EVENT: Mayor’s Holiday Celebration
DATE: Friday, December 3, 2010 / 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
PRODUCER: The One and Only...drum roll...Susan Christian and her great staff at the Mayor's Office of Special Events.
PLANNED ROUTE / STREET CLOSURE: McKinney at Bagby, Walker at Louisiana; and Smith at Rusk. Closures from 5:45 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
EVENT: Mogie’s 10K Run and 1K Walk
DATE: Saturday, December 4, 2010 / 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
PLANNED ROUTE / STREET CLOSURE: ***Run begins on Allen Parkway (outbound) at Bagby, proceeds south on Bagby, east on Dallas (three north lanes), south on Smith, east on McGowen, north on Louisiana, west on on Dallas (three north lanes) and onto Allen Parkway (outbound), u-turns at Tirrel Street, east on Allen Parkway (inbound) and concludes on Allen Parkway (inbound) at Bagby.
EVENT: Guadalupana Celebration
DATE: Sunday, December 5, 2010 / 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m.
PLANNED ROUTE / STREET CLOSURE: Parade begins at 12:00 noon on San Jacinto at Jefferson, proceeds north on San Jacinto, east on McKinney and concludes on McKinney at Avenida de las Americas.
METRORail Rider Alert - NO RAIL SERVICE THIS WEEKEND
When: Friday, Dec. 3 - 8 p.m. to Sunday, Dec. 5 - 11:59 p.m.
Where: All rail stations will be closed
Why: To allow construction of a bridge for Texas Children’s Hospital (TCH)
Bus service will operate to replace the rail service.
METRO personnel will be available to provide assistance. Normal service will resume Monday, Dec. 6.

TXDOT Closures related to the work on IH-10 provided by TXDOT
Note at the end of this section is a significant opening.
On Friday 12/3 at 9:00 pm IH-10 westbound will have a total closure at US-59. This closure will be in place until Sunday 12/5 at 5:00 pm. Traffic will be detoured to US-59 north, u-turn at Collingsworth, take US-59 south, to IH-45 north to IH-10 west. This closure will be utilized for a traffic switch.
On Friday 12/3 at 9:00 pm the US-59 south to IH-10 west ramp will have a total closure. This closure will be in place until Sunday 12/5 at 5:00 pm Traffic will be detoured to US-59 south, take IH-45 north to IH-10 west. This closure will be utilized for a traffic switch.

On Monday 12/6 at 5:00 am the San Jacinto exit ramp from IH-10 westbound will be opened up to traffic.
